Just when you’re looking the other way…

I’ve found, over the years, that my path finds me, for the most part. Though very hard work, sticking your neck out there, trying and occasionally failing are all important processes, they’re mostly just practice to get you ready for the moment when life finds you, which is exactly what happened to The Traditional Foods Cookbook.
Two years ago, I became very focused on Apricot Lane Farms. The project was so all-encompassing that I often didn’t think of showering, let alone finding a publisher for a book that was only destined to make my life busier. The passion project that Mom and I had worked so very hard to complete, simply sat on the shelf, patiently waiting its turn. Then literally the moment that several things on the farm started to click, the moment where life started to garner a rhythm that allowed for breath, repair and occasional date-nights, was the moment that a publisher from Fair Winds Press got in touch with us regarding publishing our book.
Why, oh why, do I waste time and energy worrying? Cause I do, and I did. Didn’t bring me anything, but the deepening of those two pretty lines in between my eyebrows.
Our manuscript is due May 1. If I’m a bit absent, you’ll know why. The book will be in the stores March 2014, which seems so far way I have to squint. But, it will come, and by the time it does, Mom and I will probably be on to other things – looking the other way, pleasantly surprised at its arrival.
Hope you each have a Happy New Year, and many blessings to you and yours in 2013….

Congratulations Molly! I have been patiently awaiting the arrival of your cookbook. Happy to hear it’s for real going to happen. I can’t wait!
Also, when fear and worry grip you, read Proverbs 3:5,6 and then read Jeremiah 29:11 These verses have been instrumental in my mental and spiritual growth over the years. Learning to “cast all your cares on Him”, it’s the best advice I was ever given. Happy New Year!
